from the Interim Board – 20th September 2024
It has been a very busy month for the Interim Board since the SGM on 17th August 2024, a lot has been done in the background to get the NZ Loyal Party back up and running, with the focus being on the planning for the AGM. But first, we want to again thank those involved in the running of the SGM as the catalyst for the road ahead as we leave the past in the rear-view mirror. In particular we would like to thank the anonymous donor that paid for the SGM venue. It is this kind of community support that keeps us going.
We have a venue, and we have a date!
Mark this date in your calendar: Saturday 30th November 2024.
We have secured a venue in West Auckland with a capacity for 300 attendees. We will disclose the location closer to the time as we do not want to jeopardise the booking. It has been a struggle to secure a suitable location both geographically and one that was not financially crippling. It is also sad to say that a number of venues were unwilling to accommodate and host us as a group.
We have to at this point give a big shout out to Interim Board members Lisa, Hannah, and one of our loyal Supporters for securing this venue after they battelled to get a location that would work with us.
All the details for the AGM will follow in the not-too-distant future as planning continues.
We considered other locations around New Zealand and looked into formats that included a conference style event over a couple of days with keynote speakers, but once we started receiving quotes from various venues it was obvious that now was not the time for a function of this magnitude and cost, so we have parked that idea for another time.
As with this newsletter we will continue to post any updates and information on the NZ Loyal Telegram Channel, and as we get our Membership database in order, we will be able to email updates direct to Members.
We are disappointed to have to report that due to the former Leadership refusing to cooperate with the Interim Board we will need to essentially start again with our Membership.
Those that signed up and paid a financial contribution for Membership for the running of the SGM will not be asked to ‘top-up’ the annual Membership fee. The Interim Board have agreed for those Members to be treated as Early Bird sign-ups.
The Interim Board has also agreed to a pre-AGM Membership drive special offer that will have the annual fee set at $10 for one year, but if you want to extend your Membership with that special price, we are offering an additional two-, and three-year Membership deal for the same price of just $10 per year.
After the AGM the new Board will likely revisit the Membership fees so get in quick to take advantage of the $10 special!
As we do not have access to any previous Membership information, we are unable to confirm who was a Member prior to the SGM, so we ask that anyone still wanting to remain as a member to re-submit a Membership application form; this of course will also require the financial contribution for which most would have been due for payment anyway. Another good reason to take advantage of the pre-AGM Membership special.
We need you to talk to your family, friends, and neighbours and anyone that you have contact with that would like to join NZ Loyal so that we can build depth to our Party’s Membership. This in turn will allow us to re-register with the Electoral Commission.
Keep an eye out for details on the process for completing the Membership application.
Once again, we have to report that despite a conversation with the former Leadership, they have refused to cooperate with the Interim Board and we have not received any outstanding funds, assets, or any financial records that detail receipt or expenditure of Party funds. We will be pursuing redress as a result. We are however pleased to report that NZ Loyal now has its very own bank account with two signatories required for all transactions and an external Independent Accountant to ensure that any expenditure that has been Board approved is for legitimate Party purposes only
Over and above the Membership drive we would welcome any donations, small or large, every little bit helps the cause and if you would like to run a fundraising event on behalf of NZ Loyal, please get in touch with us to discuss your ideas and how we can help to make it a success.
As aforementioned the Interim Board does not have access to, or control of, the NZ Loyal membership or supporter databases (including previously completed membership forms, either in soft or hard copy form) that were established in the lead up to, or after, the 2023 General Election. The former Leadership has refused to hand any of this information over to the Interim Board despite the personal information being gathered for the sole use of the NZ Loyal Party. We will be pursuing redress as a result.
It is public knowledge that a Trademark application has been made by the former leader of NZ Loyal. The Interim Board is continuing with a formal challenge of this Trademark application.
As detailed earlier in this Newsletter we will be re-registering NZ Loyal with the Electoral Commission, to do this we require at least 500 fully paid-up Members with their details in a prescribed form. There are strict requirements for the completion of the form to be accepted by the Electoral Commission to register the Party and will require careful scrutiny of the completed forms. This will likely mean that new forms will be required from everyone. A detailed process for the purpose of re-registration will be provided. Again, we encourage you all to join NZ Loyal as members and gather up as many supporters as we can. It is your Party, and it needs you as members to make it a success
The work continues with only two months to go before the AGM and we hand over to a new Board.
We have a number of critical key items to finalise and get into action so keep your eyes peeled for a lot more detail to come over the next few weeks that will make the future of NZ Loyal a success. This will include a call for nominations for the new Board.
Kindest regards
